Facility

With each short animation, my goal is to break new ground when it comes to incorporating new and unfamiliar elements into my work and grow as an artist.
With the animated short Facility, I wanted to focus on advanced modeling and rendering techniques. I sought this out as a way to test the 3D ray tracing application, Arnold in Maya. Using basic human models, I was drawn to the natural skin shading, as well as the rugged appearance of cloth and other surfaces.
Editing provided another experiment for me, as I was using more quick cuts to emphasize the action and fast pacing of the short. Further compositing was done in Adobe AfterEffects.
